EWU Basketball Links for Friday Morning

The Eagle's started off the week with a big time win to take the lead in the Big Sky Conference from Sacramento State.  I started the week with a lot of homework and a pair of tests, so while I catch up on the blog today take a look at these Eagle links to revel in a big victory and get ready for Portland State tomorrow afternoon.  First though watch Bogdan "The Blizzard" Bliznyuk #Posterize

Last night was a game characterized as the biggest ever by Brett Hein of midmajormadness.com, in his game preview Brett, like many of us, expected a high scoring shooting out rather than the lower scoring defensive battle we saw.  So did Jon at bigskybball.com.

Bud Withers of the Seattle Times has noticed the other good BBall team on the East side of the mountains and he thinks its time "for another to make the big dance." Of course Coach Hayford says, "It's still to early to talk about it."  Where's the fun in that Coach?  Don't worry we'll talk about it for you!

Always fun to see the Eagles on si.com, even if it is just a brief copy of the AP story.

Now the view from the other side, Mike McGough of the student run State Hornet, has this recap of the action that ended Sac State's 7 game winning streak and extended Eastern Washington's streak to 6.  Sac State Head Coach Brian Katz said, "We just made a valiant effort at the end. I'm really proud of how hard our guys played down the stretch to give us a chance to win the game. But, you know, in truth they outplayed us for a solid 35 minutes, so they were the better team tonight for sure."

For the last stop, be sure to check out goeags.com, where they have their recap of today's game including lots of key stats and quotes from Eagle Head Coach Jim Hayford, who once again donned his red blazer and helped inspire his team to victory
