EWU Eagle Eye Player of the Week: Week 10

Week 10 featured two Big Sky Conference road games, the Eagle's first loss in conference play and the loss to injury of star Forward Venky Jois.

In the void of production caused by the absence of Jois, one Eagle stepped up and delivered in a big time way.

The Eagle's Ukraine* born Freshman Forward Bogdan Bliznyuk is the week 10 #EagleEyePOW.  For the second time this season, Bogdan delivered a pair of performances that should cause Eagle fans to sit up, take notice and smile at the prospects for his future at Eastern Washington.

Bliznyuk delivered 37 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal over two games, including his first career double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds against Sacramento State.  Outside of his stat stuffing performances, Bogdan also gave Head Coach Jim Hayford 59 valuable minutes when his team was thin at the Forward spot.

Bogdan becomes the first Eagle to earn #EagleEyePOW honors twice in his freshman campaign.

*Edit - I originally mis-identified Bogdan as Serbian born, however he was born in Lutsk, Ukraine.
