EWU Eagle Eye Player of the Week Nominees: Week 6/7 2014-2015

Three games in six days sorely tested this Eagles squad, but they managed to close on a high note and finished with a win last night over Lewis & Clark State.  Last week Tyler Harvey hit 1000 career points in a win against USF, this week it was Venky Jois as he hit the 1000 career point mark in last night's win over Lewis & Clark State.

So who starred this week for the Eagles, click on through to find out the week 6 EWU #EagleEyePOW nominees.

***Since there were no games during week 7, this week's winner will be the #EagleEyePOW for both week 6 and week 7***

Normally I try to pick 3 or 4 players to put in this space, but this week was all about Tyler Harvey and Venky Jois.

Tyler Harvey, scored at will all week racking up 91 points in 3 games or 44% of Eastern's total points.  He did it by hitting nearly everything going 30 of 43 from the field, 19 of 26 from beyond the arc and 12 of 14 from the FT line.  He hit big time shots to keep the Eagles in competition and to help ice victories.  His three game stat line: 91 pts, 7 rebounds, 5 steals and 4 assists.

Venky Jois, always a star inside for the Eagles faced big time competition this week and still managed 49 points, 20 rebounds, 7 assists, 4 blocks and 4 steals.  Like Harvey, he was biggest when the team needed him most.  At time each of these games looked like 2 on 5 for long stretches.  As we saw last night if Venky and Tyler can get even a little help they can carry this team a long way.
