EWU Eagle Eye Player of the Week Nominations 11 Nov - 17 Nov 2014

Good morning Eagle fans!  It's time to decide the first EWU Eagle Eye Player of The Week for the 2014-2015 season.

The Eagles opened the season with a pair of home games and got some stellar performances from their star players.  Check out this highlight video from EWU Athletics YouTube account, then click the link below to find out which three stars are this week's nominees.

Tyler Harvey, the Junior guard was everywhere in two games leading all Eagle scorers with 39 combined points, including 15 of Easterns 32 first half points against Texas Southern.  Tyler added 10 rebounds, 8 assists and 2 steals, while turning the ball over just 1 time.

Drew Brandon, the Senior guard threatened a triple double against Texas Southern, but played within the game plan against Utah Valley and still looked like he might get close again.  His two game stat line: 20 points, 18 rebounds, 12 assists, 4 steals, 3 blocks with 4 turnovers.  The stats do not show how well he has played so far.  He is consistently attacking the rim winning rebounds and unselfishly moves the ball to other play makers.  On defense he is tenacious and rarely gives up an uncontested shot or pass.

Venky Jois, the Junior forward has looked unstoppable from everywhere on the court, except the free throw line.  He opened the season 0-6 from the field in the first half against Texas Southern, but kept playing hard and turned in a second half for the ages going 11-12 in the second half to help the Eagles run away.  His two game stat line: 35 points, 16 rebounds, 5 blocks, 4 assists and 3 steals.
