Eastern Eagles Mens Basketball Wins 82-75 over Seattle University

Tonight the Eagles won 82-75 over the Seattle University Redhawks a rising team that beat them last year 75-69 and the year before that 91-78.  This years squad is young, talented and experienced.  As one former Eagle puts it, this team can win the Big Sky:

This was a game that truly highlighted the strengths of Coach Hayford's squad, Redshirt Sophomore Tyler Harvey was money for 30pts going 6 of 9 from beyond the arc and adding 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block.

The Australian Sophomore Venky Jois was also incredible with yet another double-double.  19 points, 10 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 assists and 2 steals.

JC transfer Junior Drew Brandon was pure magic with 12 points, 7 assists, 2 rebounds, 1 steal and just 1 turn over.  Meanwhile the Freshman phenom from Serbia Ognjen "OG" Miljkovic was stellar off the bench with 10 points, 2 rebounds and 1 steal.

But we would be truly remiss not to mention the incredible defensive effort of Parker Kelly; whose 7 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists, might not be an impressive stat line but the constant pressure he kept on Seattle U's guards and outside shooters was a big part of why the Redhawks finished 28 of 63 from the floor.

The Eagles are now 5-2 and looking like they can be a true force in the Big Sky this year.  So yeah Jordan Hickert (@jawdy_water) this squad #canwinbigsky
