Player Profile: Parker Kelly (#10) Sophomore Guard

Parker Kelly (#10) Sophomore Guard, 6’4” 195lbs
Spokane, WA - Gonzaga Prep High School class of 2011

Parker Kelly returns for his sophomore season after an impressive freshman campaign in which he contributed key minutes and points down the stretch of the Eagles push to the Big Sky Conference Tournament. His first two games of the season have not seen the production we expect from the former walk-on freshman that couldn't be kept off the court, but Kelly we will see that before the season is out.

Perhaps the best game of his young career came against Northern Arizona on February 2nd, 2012 during which Kelly went 3 of 6 from the field, including 1 of 3 from beyond the arc, and 4 of 4 from the free throw line to score 11 pts, but more importantly he calmly collected the final 8 points for the Eagles in a game they won by 6 points.  The final 4 minutes of that game saw Parker go 2 of 3 from the field (including 1 of 2 three pointers) and 4 of 4 from the free throw line.

Kelly put together another fantastic game against Idaho State (February 23rd). In a game that featured 55 called fouls the freshman guard gave the Eagles 34 minutes, 17 pts, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 0 turnovers and only 2 personal fouls.

Parker's game against Northern Arizona still stands as his best to date, but he scored a career high 17 points against Weber State going 5 of 8 from beyond the arc in a game in which the Eagles needed someone to step up in place of a mis-firing Collin Chiverton.

Parker was selected as the EWU Eagle Eye Player of the Week for February 7th to February 13th, 2012
