Player Profile: Kevin Winford (#23) Senior Guard

Kevin Winford (#23) Senior Guard, 5’11” 170lbs
Anchorage, AK - Bartlett High School class of 2008

Kevin has started out the season shooting well from beyond the arc going 3 of 5 in his first two games, but he's been in foul trouble in both and was limited to just 12 minutes against Cal State Northridge before fouling out. He scored 9 points and added 1 assist, 1 rebound and 1 steal in that game.

Kevin, along with Jeffrey Forbes, is one of just two 4 year players for the Eagles in the last 6 years. Kevin's Junior season was largely disappointing but he provided the Eagles with solid play and minutes down the stretch of the season and especially in the month of February. During that month, Kevin averaged 11.5 minutes a game scoring 18 points with 8 steals and 7 assists, including a 3 steal, 3 assist and 6 point effort against Portland State on February 25th.

Kevin is a skilled ball handler, solid shooter and a willing defender. Look for him to get significant minutes this season in both the 1 and 2 spots, and don't be surprised if he flashes the ability to score in bunches when he is on the floor.

From goeags.com, Hayford on Winford: “Kevin will have a strong senior season, as he plays fearless. Kevin can shoot the ball, he can drive the ball and he can play both guard positions.
