EWU Athletics Updates

Good Morning Eagle Fans!  I just wanted to pass along some news about the rest of the Eagles Sports teams, courtesy of goeags.com.  We'll still have a more basketball focused links post later on, but for now follow along after the break.

The Eastern Men placed 9th in the Big Sky Cross Country Championships led by Freshman David Thor, while the women placed 11th led by Freshman Berenice Penaloza.

The Track and Field team hired a new coach for the Jumps, while one of their former assistant coaches competed in 3 events at the paralympics

The Men's Tennis team is gearing up for one final competition of this season in Seattle this weekend.

The Women's Golf Team finished the Fall season out strong.

The Eastern Women's Soccer team finished their season in 6th place in the Big Sky Conference and added a final non-conference game to the schedule.  They'll play at Gonzaga on November 4th.

The Women's Tennis team had a solid showing at the ITA Northwest Regional Championships and are preparing for one more tournament for the year at the Cal State Northridge tournament November 9th to 11th.

The Eagles Volleyball team saw their win streak stretched to two matches on October 26th as they beat the Montana Grizzlies for the 17th time in a row when they play in Cheney.  However the Eagles couldn't finish off the Montana State Bobcats on October 27th and their record fell to 2-22 on the season including 2-12 in Big Sky play.

Finally, the top ranked Eagle football team lost to Southern Utah in a 30-27 shoot out in Cedar City, Utah.  The game featured 5 lead changes and more than 500 yards of offense for both teams.
