EWU Eagle Eye Player of the Week Candidates February 28th to March 5th

Ok Eagle’s Fans, its time to consider and select your EWU Eagle Eye Player of the Week for February 28th to March 5th, 2012.  Here are the candidates whose performances best helped the Eagles complete a 3 game season sweep of the Idaho State Bengals find out who after the break:



Cliff Colimon (#11)

Cliff Colimon (#11): on Tuesday night Colimon led all scorers with 28 pts adding in 4 assists and 2 rebounds, while on Saturday he led all Eagles in scoring with 22 pts, adding in 7 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals.  Combined average over the two games: 25 pts, 5.5 assists, 3 rebounds and 1 steal.








Laron Griffin (#15)

Laron Griffin (#15): on Tuesday night, Griffin set a season high with 18 pts, just one shy of his then career high 19 pts.  Tuesday also marked Griffin’s 2nd double-double of the season (5th of his career) as he finished with 18 pts, 12 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 blocks.  On Saturday, Griffin set his season and career highs in scoring with 21 pts and completed his 3rd double-double of the season (6th of his career) as he finished with 21 pts, 11 rebounds and 1 block.  Laron also avoided foul trouble in both games allowing him to play at least 32 minutes in back to back games for the first time this season.  Combined average over the two games: 18.5 pts, 11.5 rebounds, 2 steals, 1.5 blocks and 2 personal fouls.

Jeffrey Forbes (#22)

Jeffrey Forbes (#22): on Tuesday night, Forbes was right on his season average with 7 pts, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal.  On Saturday, Forbes was a star going 5 of 6 from beyond the arc for a season high 21 pts and adding in 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.  The 21 pts also marked the most points Forbes has scored against a division 1 opponent since November of 2009.
