Player Profile: Collin Chiverton (#24)

Collin Chiverton (#24) Junior Forward, 6’6” 200lbs
San Jose, CA - Archbishop Mitty High School class of 2008

In his first campaign with the Eagles after transferring from City College of San Francisco, Collin has provided instant star power.  His offensive game is marked by dazzling fireworks from long range and quick dribble driving that leave defenses scrambling to catch up.  Defensively, Collin uses his length and quickness well.  An injured foot has limited him to about 25 minutes a game.  Collin has scored more than 20 pts in 11 games this year.

Collin has not played well down the stretch due in part to apparent frustration and more recently a nagging injury to his back. Despite that he's managed to get 43pts, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks over the last four games in which he's been limited to an average of 14.75 minutes. Collin showed a lot of heart against Portland State while playing through a painful injury he scored 4 pts, got 3 rebounds and was tenacious on defense during just 9 minutes of playing time.

From goeags.com, Hayford on Chiverton: “Collin is a winner and has played on highly-successful teams -- he has been a key player on all of those squads.  He is an extremely athletic player and has a great dribble-drive game.  He has extreme range in his outside shooting ability, and is a very strong offensive player.  He has great scoring ability, especially scoring in bursts.”
