Halftime Report: Eastern Washington Eagles @ Seattle University Redhawks

In a battle in Seattle, the Eastern Washington Eagles trail the Seattle University Redhawks 44 to 48.  Both teams started out shooting well, but even so the Eagles had their opportunities to dominate this game.  The Eagles were out rebounded by the Redhawks, repeatedly giving the Redhawks second chance points.

The Eagles have done good to hit their free throws, though Collimon is again in foul trouble.  This team needs Collimon to play foul free ball, but they need him to play.  Parker Kelly, Jordan Hickert, Kevin Winford and Collin Chiverton are firing on all cylinders.  The Eagles have not had an answer defensively for Sterling Carter who is absolutely on fire.  Look for Coach Hayford to make an adjustment in this area coming out of the half.

The Eagles will need to slow down the Redhawks shooting, and continue to press offensively to pull out a win tonight. Coach Hayford experimented with a 2-3 zone in the first half (which is odd as the 2-3 zone defense is designed to stop teams from getting inside, not to stop them from shooting outside shots). But Hayford sees the need to correct the defense so I expect the Eagles to come out better in the second.
