Player Profile: Jeffrey Forbes (#22)

Jeffrey Forbes #22, Junior Guard, 5’10” 170lbs.
Federal Way, Wa - Federal Way High School class of 2009.

Forbes had a great game against Idaho State on February 23rd in which he scored 13 well earned pts, added 3 rebounds and 1 assist while playing 33 minutes and committing only 2 turnovers and 0 personal fouls. Jeffrey has continued to be a solid presence on defense and the Eagles have been getting solid minutes from Forbes that do not always show up on the stat sheets.

Perhaps the best game of Forbes' season came against Montana State when he racked up 5 rebounds 4 steals and 11 points. Forbes' leadership and value to the team do not always show up on a stat sheet, but he plays with ferocious hustle and heart.  Forbes does a good job of staying out of foul trouble and is one of the players Coach Hayford relies on down the late stretch of games. This is why Forbes leads the team in minutes with 34.3 per game.

Forbes played all 40 minutes against Gonzaga (8 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals) and Idaho (9 points, 2 assists and 2 rebounds), 39 minutes against both UC Davis (5 points 4 rebounds and 3 assists) and UCLA (4 rebounds and 1 steal) as well as 38 minutes against Northern Arizona (15 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists).

From goeags.com: Coach Hayford on Forbes: “Jeffrey Forbes is a winner.  He comes from a Federal Way program that is one of the best high school basketball programs not only in Washington, but on the West Coast.  He knows what it takes to win and his work ethic is outstanding.  He shoots the ball well, plays hard and has tremendous speed.”
