EWU Eagles Links for Friday Night

Good Evening Eagle’s Fans!  I wanted to take a moment and share some of the articles and blog posts I read about our team today:

Dave Carpenter of The Sacramento Bee offers his thoughts on why the Hornets lost last night to our Eagles.  He seems to think it was the Eagles advantage in 3 pointers that made the difference, but glosses over how the Eagles very good free throw shooting kept them in the game long enough for the 3 point effect to turn the tide.

Alex Grotewohl of the State Hornet offers that despite dropping a heart breaker to the Eagles the Hornets have improved and are looking forward to the return of Junior Guard Jordan Estrada from the high ankle sprain he suffered in a loss to Weber State on December 31st.

The Tacoma News Tribune offers this recap pointing to the Eagles advantage in 2nd chance points (19 to 8) and their improved shooting in the 2nd half as the deciding factors in a close game.

Over at Jon offers a recap of the game citing the clutch performances of Cliff Colimon and Collin Chiverton.

In other Eagles Sports news, Brandon at offers a great profile of Bo Levi, EWU’s very own Walter Payton award winner.

Jim Allen of the Spokesman Review points out that this Eagles victory set the stage for Eastern to climb another rung on the conference standings with Weber State and Montana squaring off on Saturday.

That’s all I’ve got for now.  I’ll be working on my own recap of the game with respect to the preview I posted earlier.
